Celebrities falling away from the faith

In regard to this recent "crisis," I cite I Timothy 3 from the New King James Version and cut and pasted from the Bible Gateway cite, thus the hyperlinks.

"This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a [a]bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not [b]given to wine, not violent, [c]not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not [d]covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a [e]novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil."

Emphasis mine.

Ok, I know that some of these folks are "bishops," but Harris was a pastor. He was elevated to leadership far too young; this Sampson person was a type of entertainer. That these persons' faith struggles should be news is the problem; they are celebrities and get far more attention than they should.

In our rush to pander to youth we disobey I Timothy 3:6.
