A Plan for Holy Week
I have not blogged in a while because I gave it up for Lent, but this post is about sanctifying Holy Week in your hearts.
Monday: Meditate on the physical pain of Christ, reading Luke's account.
Tuesday: Mediate on the spiritual pain of Christ being tortured with our sins. The physical pain is a way for us to see and empathize withe the spiritual pain, which we cannot understand since we are not sinless creatures. Read II Corinthians 5 and Romans 5.
Wednesday: Mediate on the depth and awfulness of our sins, corporately and individually, that demanded the payment of the cross. Romans 3.
Thursday: Meditate on the mercy and love of God. Romans 8.
Friday: Meditate on the humanity of Christ and the human drama of the crucifixion. Read John's account.
Saturday: Meditate on what his death accomplished spiritually and eternally. Colossians 1 and 2.
Sunday: Meditate on the power of the resurrection; ask, What would you have me do, Lord? because of this Holy Week observance.
